Getting to Angel Fire

Getting to Angel Fire is likely to require some wheels. While there is a small airport in town (see below), unless you can fly your own plane or charter one, you are likely to have to drive from your home or a nearby major city.

We fly into Albuquerque (nice airport), rent a car and drive from there. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Albuquerque to Angel Fire if you don't stop in Santa Fe or Taos for a meal. You can also check airfare into Denver which is about a 5-hour drive away.

Many people drive from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and even California to get here. My parents drove from Kansas City to Angel Fire on one trip.

Here are some approximate driving distances and times. We haven't driven these routes so we'd love to hear from you about how long it actually took (and any shortcuts you may have to share!)
